Separation Agreements
Separation agreements apply to:
- married couples who do not wish to divorce immediately
- unmarried couples who want to record their agreement about living together so there is no dispute later
The agreement needs to be tailored to your particular circumstances as ‘one size does not fit all’.
The agreement can cover aspects including:
- the division of capital
- payment of maintenance including financial provision for the children
- division of contents
- who children live with
- how often the non resident parent can see the children.
Separation agreements are binding on you provided there has been full financial disclosure.
At Hart Brown when advising on separation agreements we will try and obtain all relevant information and make sure your position is protected as much as possible.
