Non Payment
We strongly recommend that clear payment terms are agreed with all of the parties involved in a building project before any works start.
The terms might involve stage payments, where set amounts are paid when particular stages in the works have been satisfactorily completed (particularly on longer projects) or when specific works have been certified by an architect or quantity surveyor. If a disagreement does then arise it is easier to resolve.
Our experience means that we know the sort of reasons which are put forward as to why payment is not made. We can advise you on whether these are just lame excuses or arguments which would succeed at trial. We can help with mediated solutions or taking more formal steps to obtain payment if necessary.
To speak to someone who can help with non-payment or any other commercial litigation claim call, email or request a call back from one of our specialist lawyers.
