Auction
Many properties each year are sold at auction and are often purchased by investment buyers.
Properties sold at auction tend to be:
- properties with title or other problems
- repossessed properties
- investment sellers who want a quick sale.
You are obliged to purchase the property as soon as the auction hammer falls.
Beware of being carried away at auctions as you may find that you pay more than you were planning or more than the property is worth.
Don’t be tempted to proceed without having the paperwork looked at in detail. Full title and supporting searches should be obtained from the auction house.
Let our specialists at Hart Brown investigate the title before the auction. We will also raise enquiries in the normal way. You may receive information about the property which is not in the auction pack. We may advise you against buying the property. Alternatively we can give you peace of mind that the property represents a good purchase.
To speak to someone who can help with buying a property at auction call, email or request a call back from one of our specialist lawyers.
