Tenancy Agreements

A Tenancy Agreement is an agreement entered into by a landlord and a tenant where the landlord lets and the tenant rents property or land owned by the landlord for a set period of time on certain conditions and on payment of rent.

Most residential tenancies are assured shorthold tenancies but whatever the nature of the tenancy they can be very complicated and, if they are incorrectly prepared, can be financially onerous to both tenants and landlords.

Tenancy Agreements will cover matters including:

  • the landlord’s obligations
  • the tenant’s obligations
  • rent payable
  • how long the tenancy will last
  • what both parties can and can’t do

At Hart Brown our specialist lawyers can help:

  • ensure that the terms of the agreement are put into plain English
  • you  understand them
  • avoid any misinterpretation
  • avoid any misconstruction
  • negotiate terms on your behalf.
