Dental Claims

Perhaps as a result of the increase in cosmetic treatments the numbers of dental complaints and dental negligence claims is going up.  If the treatment is paid for privately (rather than under the NHS) there may be a claim for breach of contract as well as for negligence.  The increasing cost of remedial treatment means that more of these cases are now the subject of dental malpractice claims.

Dental compensation claims can include the following:

  • the failure of root canal therapy or minor oral surgery
  • the failure of crown and bridge work or other implants
  • inadequacies in treatment to correct occlusal problems
  • the failure to recognise a deteriorating gum condition which affects the prognosis for future teeth.
  • unnecessary and expensive treatment
