Tenancies Connected to Employment

We regularly act for employers who include living accommodation as part of the terms of an employee’s employment contract. Whether they are:

  • service occupancies
  • licences to occupy
  • agricultural or assured short-hold tenancies

the fact that they are connected to the employment raises issues when the employment comes to an end.

An employee is usually given a personal licence to occupy the property but only for so long as they remain in employment.

Disputes tend to arise when the contract of employment ends and the employer requires the employee to move out of the property or into alternative accommodation.

We can help with the drafting of contract of employment  giving rights to occupy, the termination of the licence and if necessary recovering possession of the property by court proceedings.

To speak to someone who can help with a job related tenancy call, email or request a call back from one of our specialist lawyers.
