Religion
Religion has divided people for centuries but under the Employment Equality (Religion or Belief) Regulations 2003 it is unlawful to discriminate directly or indirectly or to subject to victimisation an employee on grounds of:
- their religion
- their beliefs
- their philosophy
We at Hart Brown have advised many employees on issues such as:
- sticking to their personal dress code for example Sikhs wearing a turban being excluded from the requirement to wear a safety helmet on building sites
- not being treated fairly and equally
- having time off for religious days or ceremonies
- a failure to be promoted even though they were the best candidate
- inappropriate conduct by work colleagues
The amount of compensation that can be awarded is unlimited.
To speak to someone who can help with a discrimination on the grounds of religion issues or any other employment related issue call, email or request a call back from one of our specialist lawyers.
