Trustees

Initially trustees are appointed by the trust deed. If you are creating the trust you will decide who they are. As it is an important role involving a significant element of trust you need to select carefully. An independent professional can be a good choice of trustee particularly if the beneficiaries do not all get on. We are willing to act as trustees if appropriate.

If you are a trustee you hold, manage and administer the trust assets. This can include making investments, selling or buying assets.

As a trustee you are answerable to the beneficiaries of the trust and can in some situations become personally liable.

We will provide advice and assistance to trustees in relation to all aspects of the administration of a trust. We will help them fulfil all of their duties and responsibilities and make sure that they are aware of their potential liabilities as trustees.

To speak to someone who can advise on choosing a trustee or acting as a trustee or any other issue related to a trust call, email or request a call back from one of our specialist lawyers.
