England win at lacrosse sponsored by Hart Brown

A substantial crowd watched England beat World Champions Australia 8 – 6 at a full women’s warm-up international lacrosse competition in Surrey recently, sponsored by Hart Brown solicitors. 

The match was particularly exciting for both players and spectators alike because of the historic rivalry between the two nations – and because the very next day England flew out to go for gold in the 2009 World Championships in Prague.

The athletic England squad got off to a flying start in their warm-up match against the Aussies, held in Cobham, scoring three goals in the opening six minutes. England’s co vice-captain Katy Bennett scored four of the goals .

Tim Pearce of Hart Brown said, “We are delighted to be able to sponsor this international match which got so many of the local community involved, especially schools. We also held a Hart Brown ‘Get a Hat, Get Ahead’ competition and Stephen Smith won the prize for the zaniest pose, for a trip to Lords Cricket Ground.”
