Bob has a wealth of experience in general litigation with particular specialism in property and commercial disputes.

His most memorable case was defending a claim for about £18m. The case involved not only substantial money but also fascinating legal issues about when documents are properly served on an individual. He took the case to the House of Lords who agreed with his reasoning.

After doing work experience at Hart Brown in 1967 he started his articles of clerkship (as they were known in those days) with Hart Brown in 1968. He qualified on 1 April 1970 and became a partner in 1971 when he was tasked with establishing Hart Brown's civil litigation department. Bob became a deputy district judge in the county and high courts in 1989 for 12 years. He resigned from this position to become managing partner of the firm.

In March 2006 Bob went into semi-retirement and now works part-time. He has responsibility for monitoring and ensuring that Hart Brown consistently delivers a high quality service to all their clients while constantly looking at ways to improve. All lawyers still call upon his experience and knowledge for guidance on complex points of law.
