Nigel graduated from the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg in South Africa with a BA degree in Psychology and Politics, before reading Law and graduating in 1989.
After a short foray into criminal law as a prosecutor, he completed his training contract and was admitted to practice in 1995.
He then joined the firm of Thornhill and Company, being made a partner, where his practice consisted of civil litigation and company commercial matters.
In 1997 he was approached by PricewaterhouseCoopers to become an in-house solicitor in their business recovery division, where he stayed until relocating to the UK in 1999.
Nigel re-qualified to practise in the UK and was appointed as an associate in the company commercial department at Pearson Maddin Solicitors before moving to Hart Brown in 2002. He was made a Partner at Hart Brown in April 2004.
He has experience in mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, MBIs, insolvency and business recovery and intellectual property (including computer software licensing agreements). He also undertakes general commercial work including supplier agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholder agreements and distribution agreements.
