Susan Stainsby

Susan is a qualified CIPD HR professional and is responsible for the firm's HR and Facilities functions. She has a wealth of generalist HR and pensions experience gained in the Legal sector, charities and publishing.

Susan joined Hart Brown in 2014 and works closely with the senior management team, giving advice at both operational and strategic level.

Current Vacancies

1. Contentious Probate/Litigation Solicitor:

We have an opportunity within our busy Dispute Resolution team for a litigation fee earner who will be able to demonstrate substantial experience in contentious probate matters. Responsibilities will include managing a busy contentious caseload covering:

  • Contesting the validity of Wills
  • Inheritance Act disputes
  • Trustee disputes
  • Estate disputes

This is a great opportunity for a team player to be part of a growing ambitious Dispute Resolution team.

ACTAPS membership is an advantage.  Excellent client care and interpersonal skills are essential as well as a keen commercial sense and an interest in business development.

 

2. Residential Property Solicitor – Woking:

We have an new opportunity for an experienced Residential Property Lawyer to join our Woking office.

A successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years PQE with in-depth technical experience of a full range of cases such as sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.  Good business development and networking skills are also useful to contribute to the department’s continued growth.

You will be working as part of a dedicated and friendly team across all of our offices. With our supportive and encouraging work culture, there are opportunities for progression within the firm.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years PQE with in-depth technical experience of a full range of cases such as sales, purchases, re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
  • High level of attention to detail.

3. Legal Secretary  – Private client:

A vacancy has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our Private Client department supporting a team with a very busy workload. This role requires someone to offer excellent secretarial and administrative support, taking a hands-on approach.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a friendly and busy team with an excellent reputation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing full secretarial support, including using a digital dictation system to produce correspondence and other documentation.
  • Maintenance of comprehensive and accurate client admin files.
  • Assistance with receptionist duties which will include meeting and greeting clients, taking calls through the switchboard, directing calls accordingly and arranging meeting room bookings.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working as a Legal Secretary within a private client practice area
  • Strong and efficient secretarial and admin skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Audio transcription skills
  • Fast accurate typing ability
  • Experience of using case management is desirable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Very well organised
  • Friendly & professional attitude
  • IT literate – Microsoft Word / Excel / Outlook/ Digital Audio software
