Firm promotions: James Lamont and Louise Harrhy join the Executive Board and membership of Hart Brown LLP

We are delighted to announce that James Lamont, Head of Commercial & Corporate and Louise Harrhy, Head of Wills, Trusts and Estates will be joining the executive board and the membership of Hart Brown LLP as of today.

On behalf of everyone at Hart Brown LLP, we would like to congratulate James and Louise on their new appointments and we look forward to working with them as they settle into and develop their new roles.

About James Lamont:

James has specialised in corporate and company commercial law for more than twenty years and joined Hart Brown in 2010 as a Partner in our Guildford office.

James advises on new business ventures, legal structures, sales and acquisitions, mergers, buy-outs, corporate investments and a wide range of commercial contracts. He represents a wide variety of clients across various sectors including in sports, media and advertising, branding and web design, engineering and manufacturing, transport and logistics, technology and software solutions, professional services, property investment and in the food and drinks industry.

James said of his new appointment:

About Louise Harrhy:

Louise has worked in the field of Private Client for many years and joined Hart Brown in 2017 as a Partner based in our Cranleigh office.

Louise has extensive experience in a broad range of Private Client work having come from an accountancy background and is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Louise helps clients with all aspects of Private Client work and deals with the formation, termination and administration of trusts, lifetime and post death planning and will drafting. Louise has considerable experience of applications for probate and estate administration often including complex issues and overseas assets. Additionally, she assists clients with Court of Protection matters including lasting powers of attorney and court applications for both gifts and the appointment of deputies.

Louise commented:

Nigel Maud

Nigel read Psychology and Politics in South Africa. He went on to qualify as a solicitor in 1995 and initially practiced as a prosecutor before moving into private practice where he specialised in commercial work. He then moved into the business recovery and restructuring department at Pricewaterhouse Coopers broadening his understanding further of the problems and challenges a business faces.

Relocating to England in 1999 Nigel joined Hart Brown in 2002 and became a partner in 2004.
